No.45 Convair C131 USCG livery, originally 1/65
No.45 is a beta build of Murph's model, Convair C131 USCG livery, originally 1/65, reduced to 1/72 to fit in this series. The nose cone used is the military style as given on the template sheet. When you build this model, don't forget to put in sufficient weight in the nose section to avoid tail sitting. One other thing is the upper triport support of the front landing gear strut maybe a little weak, so I used a wire wrapped around the lower front landing gear strut, piercing into the nose section to strengthen it. Okay, let's call it cheating but it's not too noticeable, yet gives a very sturdy support of the whole structure! Whether you would like to build it as is, is all up to you. Other than the spinning props, nothing fancy has been added. Again, photoprint paper was used to give the plane a glossy look.

Thanks, guys, and here's a wip picture of the nose of the coming AA livery.
Those darn photoprint papers are no easy to tame. |
