No.49, Dehavilland Caribou UN livery, originally 1/65
No.49 in this series is Dehavilland Caribou UN livery, a repaint by Yukon John.
The original scale is 1/65 but now reduced to 1/72. Even at this scale of 1/72, the wing span is some 17-1/4 inches. John will send his repaint to Aaron for sale, I believe. For now, let's have a preview of the UN Caribou, shall we? |

As always very nice.
Yukon John also did a fine job, and correctly eliminated the radar at the nose. Thank you for sharing. ps there are many potential recolors for this plane, and some very exotics! |

Wonderful. Very clean build as always. Thanks.
I am working through the test build of this one at the moment. Photo taken on the ramp in Whitehorse while she was flying in supplies to the Cadillac Mine in the early 1980s. John |

Very cool recolor John and very good build as awaysa papermate.
I was thinking of making RCAF Caribou but not in UN service.Surprisingly I found very few pictures and even less guidance as to their colors prior to unification of forces. Finding more detailed info on RCAF operations for UN in Africa also proved fruitless-Caribous weren't the only ones there afaik. |

Thanks. One of my easy-on-the-ink-cartridge repaints . There are a few non-UN RCAF variations in Patrick Martin's RCAF 1947-1968 book.

No.50 Dehavilland Twin Otter Golden Knights
No. 50, Dehavilland Twin Otter Golden Knights version has been posted on the relevant thread and now it's here for more views of the Golden Knights. I didn't mention that you need a weight of some sort to keep the plane from sitting on its tail, did I?

There are nine in the series and I have been asked to do 6.
So, after these two, there'll be four more coming, so watch out, my friends. |

DH Canada managed to do really good looking series starting with Beaver. Twin Otter is no exception.
