No. 5 Hurricane

No. 5 Hurricane is a WW2 freebie from Channel 4 (Battle of Britain: 303 Squadron) but not sure if it is still there. There is no indication of the scale and a lot of reference works are needed from wiki and google. The model is enhanced by adding landing gears and air scoop under the fuselage.

No. 6 is Bristol Scout by Digital Card Models, originally at 1/72, drawn by Gabreil Panait and artworked by Steve Bucher. Prop can be spinned by finger and very fine thread used for rigging. The engine cowling was CA glued before sanding and painting and a smooth and shiny look was achieved.

Thanks guys.

Cafe, I don't know about the Hurricane as no scale is given on the website but for the Scout, it's 1/72.

Lonnie, I just used normal printing paper (80 gsm or under). What I do nowadays is to print the plan twice on thinner paper 80 gsm or under. Then on the first sheet, I'll cut away all the tabs and then carefully paste it on to the second sheet with the tabs. Finally, cut out and proceed as usual. The layer of glue, normally PVA, makes the whole thing more sturdy and easier to control.

I don't want to hijack a thread, but I assume that simpler models such as FG and Zio work best for the smaller scales, My Halinski Zero would not be a good choice ;-). The double layer technique sound brilliant! I have tried some smaller scales but could never get the paper to work right for it. Thanks!

The right paper helps. The two layers of thinner paper idea makes a lot of sense. I have some old advertising flyers that is my paper of choice for smaller builds. A little heavier than regular paper, but much more solid due to the commercial ink on the backside. I'm going to miss this paper when it is gone.

I always enjoy visiting your threads

No. 7 Halberstadt CL II Schlasta 26 by Wayne McCullough

No.7 is Wayne Cullough's Halberstadt CL II Schlasta 26, from Landships II, originally at 1:72. When requested, CharlieC, a member of this forum and who runs the Landships II site, promptly rectified the link to this model. So, there's no reason for not returning a prompt display of this beautiful and colourful biplane to thank this great designer and the relevant site administrator.

Hope you'll enjoy the pics and happy downloading the freebies (there're 3 of them, all marvelous models!)

Congrats on another awesome model. The rigging must have been hard considering the size of the model!

Thank you, Carlos. Yeah, it was a bit tricky to get the rigging in place but patience won the day.
