DH-112 Venom

A few weeks ago, I bought a model of DH-112 Venom edited by Reimers Modellbaubogen. This plane was used in swiss air force.
I like to build 1:33 models but this one is 1:50 scaled. As this model was metal coated I couldn't simply magnify it to 1:33 scale. Therefore, I decided to redraw all parts and apply a three tones marking. I also added details ( texts, wear, frameworks,...).

That looks really nice.I've always been a fan of the Venom/Vampire series of aircraft.
Looking forward to seeing the build thread.

Cheers,
Douglas

It isn't easy to make patterns fit ... several attempts have been needed.
A photo of the plane I intend to replicate.

dayn, great job so far. A suggestion, if you can make the entire image black and white only pencil in the camoflague pattern on the parts and see if they line up. this is all done digitally on your edit program. this will save you tons of ink

Hi CMDRTED, your advice allowed me to continue my work with more precision ... and with a saving of ink. Thank you. On the three photos you can see the result: the drawing of the fusealge is pratically finished.

This post has been waiting for a very long time ! Today, I decide to continue this project. I fully intend to complete it. For the past few days I've been working on the stencils. Here are two pages that are finished.
Regards
Dayn

Interesting project! Was the aircraft based at Meiringen AFB? Few years ago I visited the Axalp "show" with F18s and F5s. Quite spectacular. We could hear the sonic booms in Lauterbrunnen, where we stayed.

By the way, did you ever finish your fantastic Halinski Fw-190 project?

Cheers,
Erik

Maybe it is like fine wine. It has to age properly.

I like the pale color scheme you are using . Hopefully the parts fit when you scaled it up to 1/33.
