Thanks, guys. Aaron, I built them as printed and the main rotor blade measures 6 inches long
and that's the radius. However, when it rotates, it hits the rear rotor blade.

Maybe the rotor blade should be shortened to just about the yellow tip part.
Anyway, you can work out the scale.

Back to the building report.......

3. There's no problem building the supporting frame of the helo. Just follow the diagram on the printed sheet. Pay attention to Part C, the connecting strut, which should be attached from the lower end of the rear suspension coil spring to the front bar of the supporting frame, about 1.3 cm from the side.

4. Again no problem with the engine except the disc plate that closes up the engine block. To overcome this problem, I cut out the disc first and used waste paper to roll up a tube loosely and insert it into the engine block and let the roll recoil itself until it snugly touched the rim. Then applied glue and let it dry. Then cut and trim away the protruding part of the tube just about it reached the rim. And then it made it perfect for the disc to be glued in place.

We haven't come to this part, the tail rotor drive pulleys, yet. But after reviewing the build and looking at it at various angles, I have a suggestion for Aaron to consider. The TRDP should be long enough to join the axle of the engine with the tail rotor shaft. See the pics which are self-explanatory.

Back to the build report...........

5. This is the trickiest part - to connect the tail boom to the frame. I have not used any tools other than my hands and a pair of small pliers. Anyway, you'll have to think of something for the rolled tubes, Parts A and B, to hang on to the places to be joined before applying glue. To deal with this, I used tiny wires (alternatively, pins or staples will do) and inserted them into both ends of Part B. As regards Part A, just insert the wire into the end connecting to the tail boom will do.

6. Let's see some pics that will explain it easier.

7. And there you have it done.

8. If you have come to this stage, the rest is easy.

9. This is the end of the build report.

Thanks for watching.

A slight correction of this pic describing the tilt angle of the "tail rotor boom"
instead of "tail rotor shaft".

Hmm. Something must have got lost in translation from digital to paper. As designed, the tail rotor drivebelts were supposed to sit in the center of the engine block

(Some parts removed for clarification)

I scaled the models out at 1:29. Which puts it in scale with a bunch of the other helicopters.

Sent both models into ecardmodels today.

I just bought this yesterday and already vectored it.

Going to print it out now and build.

I also changed the cockpit color to that as the same cockpit color of Marek's 1:50 warbirds. (The blue on the model was just too dark in my opinion.)

Beautiful model. Having difficulty interpreting the folding and cutting of the black frame. Can you help me? Thanks
