Spad vii c1 gpm 1/33

I think it is the only one SPAD VII proposed in paper model in 1/33.

There is a lot of documentation easy to find about this airplane. For exemple, the very good " SPAD FIGHTERS IN ACTION " published at SQUADRON SIGNAL.

The represented SPAD was one of the SPA 48 squadron (summer 1917) and was flown by Captain J. ROQUES .

COMMENTS

WINGS AND EMPENAGES

Proposing all rudders separated is an excellent idea. A round leading edge of these rudders would have been more realistic.

The fact that the leading edge of the horizontal rudder is carved is curions. You have to rectify this mistake with your cutter along a rule.

A 3/10 piano wire is glued inside all interplane struts.
All flying wires are in 3/10 piano wire.

FUSELAGE

The various trapdoors after glued give a touch of realism. It is simple and effective.

Put in place the windscreen before positioning wings.

The machine gun comes from the NIEUPORT 23 of ECARDMODEL much more realistic than proposed gun.

You can improve the cockpit with seat belts, rudder pedal and control stick more realistic. You have to put them in accordance with the position choosed in final for rudders.

Elements of the fuselage are sticked edge-to-edge and reinforced inside with thin paper.

The propeller consisted of several layers is realistic.

FOR THE PLEASURE

You can realized vertical push rods to ailerons and bell cranks, and suspension sandows of the landing gear.

More informations about on my blog, but in french. sorry.

Best regards and sorry for my english.

Beautiful build as usual Criquet. There's a corrected horizontal tail in the downloads section.

Many thanks at all.
Thanks WAG. I don't know that. Are you the designer of the model?

Best regards

I wish I were that talented, I want to try designing but I haven't yet built up the courage to try. I believe Fitter (the real designer) is a member here, as is Old Troll, who designed the corrected tail.
