Mirage 2000 in 1:200

In january 2012, I made some edits and recolors on Chaiwat Kosatanakom's Mirage 2000. Among them was a ROCAF aircraft.

I finally built it on thursday. I also redesigned the ventral fuel tank and its pylon (it looks much better than my first design).

Mirage 2000 in 1:200-chaiwatkom-mirage2000-5-tw-003.jpgMirage 2000 in 1:200-chaiwatkom-mirage2000-5-tw-004.jpgMirage 2000 in 1:200-chaiwatkom-mirage2000-5-tw-005.jpgMirage 2000 in 1:200-chaiwatkom-mirage2000-5-tw-006.jpgMirage 2000 in 1:200-chaiwatkom-mirage2000-5-tw-007.jpg

And then I wondered... Could I use those wings on Ojimak's model? Hence kitbashing!

I printed 2 kits at 30% (also used a light blue marker on the canopies), spun some parts of my french recolor of Chaiwatkom's model to a new file (wings/landing gear/IFR probe/ventral fuel tank and pylon) and made a cover for the bottom fuselage. I changed the line width to 0.05 mm instead of 0.075 and the colors to match Ojimak's model. I left the roundels (too big) and the camo scheme itself unchanged (by luck it lines up OK on the left side but there was a 1 mm mismatch on the right wing, corrected for the greek one).

I didn't have time to build the fuel tanks before nightfall, so it will be for another time.

Thanks all!

Here is another repaint I have yet to build. It's the only french single seat Mirage 2000 to ever receive a desert camo. Some 2-seat Mirage 2000N were also painted in a similar scheme for a Red Flag exercise in the US.

edit: something I forgot to mention. In the pic with the undersides, the model on the left is the original Ojimak Mirage I built almost 3 years ago. That one has the original wing and the first version of the ventral fuel tank..

Mirage 2000B in 1:200

The Mirage 2000 flight of my Mirage squadron has now received a twin-seater in the markings of EC 3/2 "Alsace" in the late 1980ies. The unit became EC 3/13 "Alsace" in 1993 when it converted to the Mirage F1CT and EC 1/30 "Alsace" in 1995. It was disestablished in 2008.

The model is a modification of Chaiwat Kosatanakom's Mirage 2000C with more custom parts. The camo doesn't line up on the right side.

Thank you again, Chaiwatkom, for this model!

That's a nice work, buddy! (Sorry for necroposting :P)
I was wondering... could you share with us a PDF version of camouflaged Mirage 2000C and 2000N? That would make me very happy
I'd like to see a Mirage 50 version colored with camos from Chilean Pantera!!! (fingers crossed)
