I treated myself to a late Christmas present on this one. The printed model has very attractive graphics. Don't know where I'll put it in the build queue, though.

Rich,
Can you post a photo showing the issue?

Since the model has recently become available at ECardmodels, as well as at the Skyline site, it is well worth reviving this thread, especially of there are any points worth mentioning to someone who has not yet built the model.

Being black it's kind of hard to see, but it's the curved part in the top of the cowl Skyline Paper Models Mitsubishi A5M4 Claude (Beta)-100_3732.jpg this shows it in front of the cowl and
this Skyline Paper Models Mitsubishi A5M4 Claude (Beta)-100_3733.jpgshows it sitting on top of where it's to go. There is still one more piece of the cowl to go on so it will be even wider(longer?). You can see it's not long enough to fit......Rich

Rich,
I don't know about the white stripes - it might be another recolor...
For some reason your opening in the cowl is much larger than it should. It could be the former "pushing it out"...
Maybe those few photos will help you out.

It's almost like the center strip of my cowl is wider than yours in the photo. I wonder if something happened in the "recolor"? The rest of the plane looks like yours just cowl different.......Rich

Rich,
I know what happened and I apologize - I should look at the kit before answering
There are no white stripes on the cowling. What looks like white stripes are actually gaps between the cowling part and the tabs that should be separated and glued underneath so there are no "steps" between the cowl skins.
