Before I close up the fuselage, would it be possible to add a LED system to the fuselage? One that extends to the landing lights in the nose and wing tips? There is a nice big hole running most of the fuselage that could hold the batteries. And i got red/white xmass lLD strings.

Great job thus far. You could try fiber optic strands and an led to light several areas. Try and make it so you can power it from a small socket on the bottom of the fuselage, this way you don't have to worry about batteries. LEDS last a lifetime.

For those of us without the model, could you post a picture of the instructions and what the parts look like if needed?

Before using the LED system you have to cut a window in the hull, glue the clear plastic and all external parts have to shell out from the inside with aluminum foil. Without this, the model will glow.

Going to drop the LED stuff, I am absolutely useless when it comes to electronics. But I did figure out how the nose gear well goes together:

Basicly, it was just a case of NOT reading the manual properly... No further progress till I can find a big enough nut to use as ballast.

Since I have this model and would like to try building it someday, I really appreciate the clear step-by-step images and you additional information on construction beyond (and in some cases instead of) the instructions.

You certainly do very precise work with exceptionally smooth joins between the fuselage segments.

I lucked out on those... Though the fit so far has been examplary! I love making 'proper' instruction photos, because that helps others too.

I f*cked up the next part, should have followed the instructions to the letter. I am using a breaker as ballast, if you wonder what that thing is.

As you can see, the skin has some big gaps now, does someone know how to fix it? I cut the connection strip because the skin wasn't going over it anyome, but due to that, it lost its strength to form the next skin section. Even though it did fit before i glued the gearwell in!

I copied part 19, the nose dome to 120gsm paper to test build it. With some edge coloring, it'll look better. And i can use it as a former/support for the real dome, if I trim the edge back a bit.

Question Info needed please.

Can you tell us what aircraft is this? Looks like a Lockheed Constellation?

I can always Google the registration number, but my suggestion is to have it and some information on the aircraft and background available as part of your initial posting.

Your work is great so far. I will be a very attractive model. I can see it.

Thanks

Isaac
