Seems to me, that the two people who have built the two examples in this thread did an excellent job without the need for formers.

Maybe, it is time to expand the skillset and build a model without formers, and shaping the fuselage without the use of formers.

That's great, a Piper Archer! I learned to fly in a range of Piper aircraft, such as the Tomahawk, Cadet and Warrior and so every now and then still fly the Archer II that we own at our flying club. Got my PPL back in 2003. Will certainly buy a copy of this model .
