F-4E; Yoav Hozmi model
After reading the initial build by our extremely talented designer and builder, I decided to build his model. Regarding Yoav's design, there was alot of coverage by himself as well as at least two builds on this forum, so I will provide my perspective on this build.
Initial instruction photos: IAF F-4E Phantom (AKA "Kurnas") - 1:33 scale Yoav's files with comments: 1:32 iaf f-4e files and instructions Klaas build which goes to details and completed in the flying position: F4E Kurnass and na120372 memebr ( which I do not know his name ), has built it twice. In the air and on its wheels: IAF F-4E Phantom by YOAVHOZMI My build will be similar, but will include the landing gear. So this is the quick intro. More to come. Isaac

An inspiration
I'm sure many of us aviation enthusiast have seen F-4 Phantoms. Some of us have seen them in flight, while others in museums. Since the Phantom served in many countries, variants can be seen all around and in many colors and schemes. I consider myself lucky in being close to some operational examples around the world.
In my office, I even have a framed poster of an Israeli Air Force flying over the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. This model that Yoav designed is in Israeli Air Force colors and is typical of all the past and active duty Phantoms ( or as they are called in country, the Kurnas or sledge hammer ). However, there were some Phantoms in IAF colors that were initially received from the USAF inventory and served in their original SEA colors. Also, later on there were some grey examples ( primarily recon versions ). The model was designed to be at 1/32 scale. However, it appears a bit larger. I will compare it next to my Hasegawa F-4E plastic model in 1/32 scale I built many years ago ( shown here ). Cheers Isaac

I'll be following this closely. I'm a big fan of the phantom and yoav, and am interested in how this will turn out. Btw, how did you print the files? When I went to print them out only half of it printed and the other half was cut off, and it didn't let me poster-print. I tried shrinking, but that oddly didn't work. What worked for you?

Yoav files are all in .jpeg format . The problem with that is that many viewing and editing programs have no way of printing it to actual size. Programs like Photoshop however, have capability of printing in actual size. So basically, I went out and purchased one of their packages. I use Photoshop Elements 11 to open the file and there is an option to print it in original scale. Also, please note that you may have to use A4 paper since some parts print close to the edges. I still have a stash of A4 cardstock, so I was able to print the files. That is my method, there may be others. I think that files in PDF format have no issues and you can always print them in actual size. You can also select which parts of the page you want to print in case you do not have A4 paper. Isaac

The landing gear is a scaled up version from a 1:50 scale F-4E. It is not overly detailed, but will be useful for my build. Also, I have the GPM F-4E and will look at that as well for some parts.
My more immediate need for details will be the external load since I want to display it with conventional ( dumb ) ordnance. Thanks for following. Isaac
