He did a Phantastic job as you can all see.

The aircraft in this model retains its USAF colors of the times, but with the IAF stars and tail markings applied. This was of course only temporary as the type was painted in the typical IAF green, sand and brown upper and pale duck egg blue on the bottom.

I am sure Yoav can elaborate some more on this.

Isaac
you are right.

this no' 317 f-4e is the last one that stay in USAF schema.

he and some more phantoms came to israel during YOM KIPOOR WAR and there were not time to paint them.
the squadron soldier called them "frogs" because of thair dark green colors.

after the war, IAF started to paint them, and 317 was the last with 316.
they painted to IAF schema in 1989.

Well actually you have me drooling on your magnificent models...

The IAF one is wonderful in all the details and the weathering....amazing job. I was refeering though to the US SEA version where the colors are a little brighter and "sharper." This is how the Hellenic Air Force F-4Es looked like in 1974-1980. Then they were repainted to Aegean Blue and Ghost Camo but in the first years they looked just like your US model.

the US model(2nd version) that i repaired do not have the correct colors, because i Randomly choose the colors by pictures i found in the net.
the 3rd version have the correct colors because i picked the colors refair to FS colors.

however, i don't have the files of the 2nd version, because i throw them away when i was woarking on the successful 3rd version....so sorry my friend.

That is a GREAT looking model of one of my all time favorite aircraft. Thank you for the interesting history of the aircraft with your discussion of their arrival to Israel and when they were finally painted. That is a great story about calling them frogs.
