Me 109 g-5
Working on a Me 109 from Kartonowa Kolekcia, similar to another build presently
which renewed my interest in this one, which I had bought partly because it looked like great graphics and different than others I had seen, since I scan my models and don't cut up the kits generally, afforded me the chance to change the nose color from reddish orange to black, the main reason for this change being this is the color scheme of the example in the Evergreen Museum in Or that we have seen. I think it would have been good to change the tail from white as this is different but didn't do that, I haven't finished this but have just attached the fuse to the wing and the nose cone and intake on side for supercharger I painted after sanding the kit parts and sealing with ca glue, sprayed the nose cone with flat black

Thanks Kevin, Gary and Nebeltex for your responses this is a fun and well designed model, I don't see any evidence that this is not a computer design although the instruction illustrations are line drawings only. One comment in favor of this kit is it is designed to be built either in a simple or complex way, the control surfaces don't have to be separated, even the cockpit detail could be omitted if one wished to use the blue colored window panels of the paper canopy, making a rather simple model relatively, or one can detail it as much as nearly any. Nice design as has been reported about this series of 109's by KK.

Front windscreen, some humps and bumps, did not try at all to hide the seam on these front "bumps" as the engine panels go through them to access the motor on the aircraft, which I thought was a nice design point, now making the little tedium of the exhaust ports...I still like the graphics on this plane quite a bit

thanks Y
I did a small recolor there with photoshop, liked the black as have seen more with this color than orange...it is rare for me to resist the urge to modify something..I also thought about making the cooler canopy of the later 109g-k

Had a little time yesterday for this, working on gear now, but spent some time on the Erla or "Galland" canopy for this one. The front scoop and other parts are made but not on yet, gear are simple only so far, found some old turned wood tires of the right size so saved some time there. The canopy looks cool to my eye in this later style although not too many card models are from this era that I have seen, had to scratch build it but nice photos available on the internet and plastic models of this model canopy are common it appears
