On one of the Polish forums I saw build report of a N1K2-J Shiden Kai where the builder used LED and fiber optic strands to iluminate the instrument panel and LEDs for the position lights - very nice effect.
I also saw model of a plane that was able to actually taxi under its own power - that was impressive! The biggest obstacle is the power supply - how to set it up so it can be easily replaced or recharged when the time comes.....

I like the idea of modding planes. If I had the know-how to do it, I would. Check out what Billy did with the FG 299

Nice!
Good idea with removable panels for the batteries. I guess electric notors you used required more power than one battery would be able to provide?

Seems like a good idea, Revel used to make, and maybe still do for all I know, models of a Huey in USCG colors (and the USCG never used Hueys to my knowlege!) and a Hrley Davidson police motocycle that had motion and sound. You might even be able to make a flying model that way, seems to me over at Fiddler's Green they mention people fitting the Sikorky R-4 and Hiller 44 bodies to RC helicopter frames with good results.
