Thank you very much for yet another of your fantastic models. I very much like your beta build (despite the shortened nacelles). It seems to be fitting together very well.
There are quite a number of possible SB 2 variants ranging from the Ant 40 to the Ar-2, should you wish to embark on a small (?) expansion of this series. Not to mention the large number of different colour schemes. I cannot remember seeing so many different profiles for any of the other planes I have searched for thus far. I found an interesting facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Tupolev-SB-2-Katiuska-Project-660910743971722/?ref=page_internal documenting a Catalanian Gents build of a full size replica of a Spanish Civil War SB 2. It contains numerous photos of the build process. Sepp |

I'm hoping (quietly) for Finnish SB-2bis with Klimov M-103 engines.
Can you believe some of those machines have been in use until 1950??much,Much longer than anyone else ,then again Finns used a lot of equipment well past their "best before" date. For example Tsarists era Mosin-Nagant actions are still used to build precision rifles for sniper training-well over 100 years old rifle actions. |
