That looks an excellent job Tony. This should about complete my 1:300 collection of aircraft that I connected with during my long military career Many thanks for that. If there's a favour I can do ya, just ask.

Ooo ... there is still one left. I never flew in one, but there was a Puccara that was a flamin' nuisance as we trekked across the Malvinas. Not an easy thing to design or build in 1:300 but if ya don't ask, ya don't get. ...

And I certainly do not have encyclopedic knowledge into all things aviation. There are certain areas in which I have a genuine interest, a fair number of references, and some experience with research: pre-1960 U.S., British Empire/Commonwealth, Japanese, and East Asian aviation, naval/maritime, transportation, and military history. Outside of those areas, I defer to others (and I defer to a lot of others on these topics, as well).

But within those areas, I really enjoy trying to track down info. I fear that it sometimes may come across as nit-picking, rivet counting, or trying to show off my "general knowledge," but it's really just a passion to try to find out what the evidence tells us about aircraft, units, and events. I may get carried away, but I try not to be critical, to be civil, and to be humble (Dave Winfield has told me that I have a lot to be humble about).

Sorry for this diversion, Bruno.

Don
What you do is NOT rivet counting my friend. What you provide is "color" for all these builds. We are all building replicas of aircraft that have played an important part in history. You bring us that information on a silver platter. Everyone here loves what you do. As I have said before you are the "brains" and soul of this here outfit.

Appreciate all the background you very appropriately fill in, Don.

As MichaelS just said, certainly NOT nit picking!

For Don, I actually look forward to some of the background info on particular builds. like oddball from Kelly's heros " I just drive em I don't know what makes em go". I just build them. and you have helped with at least one of my designs, the IJN Hosho had retractable aa guns on deck that I had no idea how they looked and there you were with they pictures and diagrams so thanks keep it up, don't give a milli second of thought that we are irritated.
Bruno, keep them coming, I have a small allotment coming out of my paycheck each week to go to buying your planes.

1/100 scale is the new black

And a 09-03-2017 quote from the Master on that thread

"Very neat Pucara. Never got to making that one (yet) B"

So there's hope yet, but as things go nowadays it'll probably be 1:100.

I might not be able to build much nowadays, but I still pop in here every day and read every word you write my Guru.
