The Buccaneer ready to join your F-4K.

It´s not only showing his face but completly, just wait for it!! Nice to see you again Johnny.

Now that I´m seeing Cafe´s DC-5 remember that I just finished another Neptune recolour. This time an Lockheed OP-2E Neptune with chin radar, early cockpit and inboard rocket launcher. stationed at Nakhom Phanon, Thailand in 1967 participated in Operation Igloo White. Still lacking landing gear, I´m working on it.Regards,Tony.

Tony:
Ya te graduaste de recolorista?
Have you graduated as a recolorist?
Is this your project for graduation?
Who is in your examining committee?
Are you going to start the designing major?
Felicidades!
Congratulations!

Yes, it was "wrong time, wrong place" for this plane. Its factory was needed for more military planes. Douglas only completed 12 DC-5 :

- the DC-5 prototype that later became William Boeing's private plane before being impressed into the US Navy where it became the only R3D-3.

- 4 DC-5 for KLM that were destined for Europe but, due to the german invasion of the Netherlands, ended up in the Dutch West Indies (2) and Dutch East Indies (2 initially, then all 4) where 1 was captured by the japanese and 3 escaped to Australia. The USAAF redesignated these 3 as C-110 in 1944.

- 3 R3D-1 for the US Navy (the first one crashing on its first flight)

- 4 R3D-2 (with a cargo door) for the US Marines

Tony, your OP-2E looks great!

Thanks for the additional recolors, guys. Much appreciated.

In the meantime I have to clean up this little "mess" and try to make a plane out of it

Ok. Taking bets now as to who can guess what this plane is. The winner claims the grand prize of, well, guessing first.

Clue: Yoevilton (could be a 'what-if' though...)

I'm indeed going for a what-if of an unbuilt project or from a project that didn't go farther than prototypes. The wing reminds me of the SR.53 or SR.177 but they were RAF, not FAA.
