Short Belfast

It began to look like an airplane, reinforced the wings and glue to the fuselage: now that everything seems to be OK I´ll do the white version.Tony.

Looks great Tony. Must be 'big aeroplane' season here. Between this and MichaelS's current B-36 build......

Oh, crud, I missed that you had done a Piper Cherokee. Back in college, I actually flew one of those. Twice. Landed it once

Actually, it was the second flight that I landed.

In grad school, my advisor and I were flying to one of the companies we worked with in another state. My advisor was the pilot, and he pops up and says, if I had a heart attack or something you'd have to fly. Told me to grab the yoke and then sat there with his arms folded across his chest and told me what I needed to do. He took control again to land there, explaining everything.

On the way back, he said 'okay, I had another heart attack, let's see what you learned.' and then gave no instructions. When we were five miles from home he took control again. When we got lined up with the runway, he announced he just had another heart attack, and I had to land.

Never fly in a small plane with a jerk

Excellent advice. I live by that rule which is why I'm still alive today.
