Wow, I was just thinking about the Aichi B7A2 the other day and now you design one. What a coincidence, you must have been reading my mind.
Thank you. Brent |

A most-welcome Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu (屠龍, "Dragonslayer"). Lots of recolor possibilities, a very good-looking (to my eye) airplane with a general similarity in appearance to the Curtiss A-18 Shrike II, and another one that will bring joy to Garry's heart.
Many thanks. Don |

Another good choices on both Ryusei and Toryu, Bruno.
I'll be especially waiting for Ryusei. Long time ago I had wanted to build it from plastic but for some reason I left that idea. Now I will have a chance to build it from paper. And do my own recolor on it.

Indeed! The biggest explosion around here will be my heart bursting with joy. Thanks heaps B-man.
And I totally agree with you Don regards the visual appeal of this bird and recolour possibilities.

I can't resist trying to identify the assignments of these beautiful airplanes. As near as I can tell using the resources available to me (citations available upon request):
Image 1 is of an aircraft of the 2nd Chutai (Company), 4th Hiko Sentai (Flying Regiment) based at Ozuki Air Base in western Japan in 1945. Specifically, it is an aircraft flown by fighter ace (5 B-29s) Warrant Officer Nishio Hannoshin . It is in the homeland air defense markings (white background to the Hinomaru). Image 2 is an aircraft of the 2nd Chutai, 53rd Hiko Sentai based in the Tokyō area in 1945. It is also in homeland air defense markings. Image 3 is an aircraft of the 71st Dokuritsu Hiko Chutai (Direct Command Flying Company) based at Kallang Air Field, Singapore in August 1945. Don |

I use to be interested in Chinese civil war after ww2 and there are few references talking about Japanese planes in both Red and ROC air arms. Read air force apparently used Ki-45 in combat, maybe due to availability of trained crews or spares and/or sufficient numbers.
