Thank you Carlos, and to everyone who is keeping this thread alive with these pocket sized marvels. Despite Covid 19 and all the other things that drive the world there are many things to be encourage by and grateful for. You folk truly are great examples of humanity and my cap is doffed.

Remember that if you want bigger and more detailed, Bruno has 3 JAS-39 in 1:100 (# 1860 to 1862) in swedish, belgian (what-if) and south African colors.

okay,
but I'm collecting fighter jets on that scale for my recolor project from the anime "girly air force"

that and I like the 1/200 scale better for the fighters (although I have not tried the 1/100)

For your Girly Air Force project, you'll need an F-4E which Bruno hasn't done in 1:300 (he has a few of them in 1:100). You can also try to design a longer nose with its gun fairing for the short nose one he did do in 1:300.

The obvious differences between the F-4E and F-4C/D (and B/N) are :

- longer nose with narrower radar cone + gun fairing under vs short nose and larger diameter radar cone
- different engines with longer exhaust cans (the US navy F-4J/N had the same engines as the US Air Force F-4E/G)
- leading edge slats on the outer wing panels (introduced during production, most early-build F-4E got them by the late 1970ies if I recall correctly).

well that was the only F-4 phantom I found in 1/200 is an F-4B of "paperengineer" link: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/v...ownloadid=2312

So I will have to use what I have

a and the F-2 Viper Zero is technically an F-16 only with longer wings and lifters so I think I will have no problem

The fuselage of the F-2 is a bit longer too.

See this F-16C to F-2A conversion: https://designer.home.xs4all.nl/models/F2-32/f2-32.htm

I was also working on this but I never finished.

In red the F-16, in green and blue the F-2. The missing parts are the nose and the front fuselage that still had to be modified. The plan was to do the first test-build with the F-16 bits.

a question you do not plan to continue working on the F-2 project?

I'm trying to get my mojo back and right now I'm trying with boxy planes. I'll go back to this F2 but probably not before summer.

(edit: though I haven't touched it since november 2017)
