I kept you all waiting too long. Here is my Nr 745 Vought SBU-1 Corsair.
The test build came out rather well. I still have to adjust a few things (like the cone at the front of the engine that is a little too long) before I can release it for real. Building notes: There are two elements to appear to be wrong but have been designed intentionally. First of all the middle and last part of the fuselage do not have the same size, which reflects the real plane. Second, on the starboard side the squadron number is covering part of the US Navy text which happened rather often when the squadron numbers changed to dubble digits. (here you have a plane of the second fighter squadron (VS-42) on the USS ranger (CV-4). Bruno |

Thanks.
I changed the parts that had to be. the SBU is released officially. I might even make a complete squadron for it. Or perhaps I should start a new model. Bruno |

I couldn't resist. There are three Squadrons available for the Vought SBU
Nr 746 SBU CV-2 Lexington Nr 747 SBU CV-3 Saratoga Nr 748 SBU CV-4 Ranger if somebody can tell me which SBU squadron (if there was one) was based on the Yorktown and the Enterprise, I could make those as well. Bruno |

And the Nr 749 Curtiss SBC Helldiver is the next one.
My desk starts to look like an aircraft carrier. Bruno |
