¡No le busques tres pies!
It could be done easily. I just need to make the badge. Interesting that Spain is the only country that didn't suffer any F-104 crash. They didn't keep them for long though. I still have my doubts about the actual colors of the silver Starfighters. Is the fuselage painted grey (see the US F-104C during their first east asian deployments in Taiwan and Indochina) or is it bare metal? I went with a metallic finish for the non SEA camo belgian one while I left the previous USAF ones in grey.

Here is the spanish Starfighter, Tony. For the fuselage color you have the choice between grey or silver.

The wings look exactly the same? Is this correct? Best regards. Pablo. |

Normally, yes: white on the uppersides and ADC grey on the undersides. The thin parts at the wing root are the same color as the fuselage. Another part that was ADC grey on the pre-SEA camo US Starfighters was the vertical stabilisator but I chose not to do it on the export planes.

Nice to see that this thread continues even when I'm not very active. Thanks everyone.
After a tough week of long work days, I finally go to making a new model and why not make several recolors while I'm at it. So I release today Nr 1159 Aviatik (Berg) D.I (Br) Nr 1160 Aviatik (Berg) D.I (T) Nr 1161 Aviatik (Berg) D.I (V) Nr 1162 Aviatik (Berg) D.I (L) Nr 1163 Aviatik (Berg) D.I (G) I made 5 different color combinations based on the very different examples you can find on the internet. And with the wise advice of Batesyboy I chose the color combinations to my likings. The letters behind the model numbers are marked on the fuselage and therefore the L model could represent the plane of Linke-Crawford. the pictures show that plane (Nr 1162) in test build. Corrections and alignment problems have been resolved. Bruno |
