Thank you muchly. See, I just knew you could do it. And a superb water wake base to go with it as well. That'll be useful for all the other flyboats too. Assuming it's included in the download that is ... I haven't checked it yet as I'm not on my computer. Just up-gunning one to Win 10 for a mate. Anyone else up-gunned to 10 yet? It's looking good to me..

The Catalina looks just great in your pictures though. Let's hope I can do it justice. It'll be interesting to see how many re-paints this will inspire. Bet ya the South Pacific Black Cats are an early entry, but don't forget they were PBY-4 or 5 ... (no wheels). While you're all modding them, can I request an all white Brit Navy Maritime Patrol version. 5A with gun turret, not the later 6A without please.

Thanks for the addition to the list.

Here is my contribution in 1/300 scale.

Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina in RAF half camo scheme.
many recolors possible (and probable)

Bruno
Very nice little mini diorama you did with the everlasting Catalina, I would call it the DC-3 of the sea. Close to 30 military operators and many civilians, including Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Surely this and the recolors is a crowd pleaser.
Happy recoloring!!!

Thanks everyone.

I did not put the wake picture in the file since it features the boat that creates the wake.

I did however start already with some recolors
Here are

Splendid model, and an infinity of variants beckon. Could you please put a scan of the wonderful base up? (Or add it to the 1/100 list for sale?) Really dramatic way to display! Also loving the plastic disks for props. Many thanks, Bruno.

Bruno, your cats are just as great as Aaron's. Yours are simpler and fun to build and I'll be building some of them, if not all.

Thanks, papermate.

My comment was sort of a pun (hence the ), to show my admiration for Aaron's model. Especially since per chance we are both featuring the same model at the same time.

(I really should be careful with how I express myself. I'm starting to look like I crave for attention.)

Thanks a lot.

I simple used a picture from the internet by typing boat wake texture in google.
you can find the picture a few lines down on this page

Just make sure you cover the boat with your plane.

and in the case of the PBY, the disks are about 12mm in diameter at 1/300 scale.
