Thanks for the props, guys! Glad you all are enjoying it.

Gerardo,
Just after skinning her and then going over the limited number of builds that I could find of this make and model (only 2), I came to realize this slight flaw, along with the exhaust nozzle low-depth issue, is a by-product of the Hal design. If I were to do it over again, I would make the changes in red, illustrated below, at the formers and skinning stage of the build. So to answer your Q, no, I haven’t corrected the intake shape. I feel it would compromise the clean build that I’ve got going so far. For the same reason I didn’t fix the nozzle issue either.

EagleClaw,
It’s the very one.
Arguably, the most replicated F-4 in the history of modeling; thus my reason for not giving a whole lotta back story on her.

Thanks again, -J

Had pics 49 & 50 done but wasn't happy with them; too washed out.
So, replaced 'em. -J

the model is looking good and the arming add a lot to the phantom.

and question for the experts....

is it the central fuel tank so narrow in F-4J?
because i don't familiar with this form of central fuel tank.

The F-4 just about always flew with a center line tank, do to the gas guzzling of the engines........... it could be the angle of his pics, but it does look like the tank is a little narrow for the scale.

Not sure if the cluster bombs are accurate for USN birds, mostly the NAVY Phantoms were used for MiGCAPS and BARCAPS and therefore were armed with sparrows and sidewinders and or course extra tanks............ they left the bomb trucking to A-1, A-4, A-6 and A-7.

But really a fantastic build of "Showtime 100". I would be proud to have it in my collection.

The fuel tank is my own design. I was trying to keep the theme of this VF-96 Flying Falcon, knowing that it flew with a centerline tank. I am aware that it should've been "wider", so to speak.

As far as the CBUs go, that's what my research found on this bird. Apparently they left the deck with them and dropped 'em before contact w/ the Migs.

Thanks for the comps, John. Much appreciated.

if you want you can use my central fuel tank.
it is already at 1:33 scale.

i give you the lines, you have only to repaint it.

in the file there is 2 words in hebrew that explains the right direction.

the word קדימה=forward.....and the word אחורה=rear

Thanks Yoav, I appreciate your efforts & talent.

I've saved it for use later. It should be a relatively simple mod without too much damage.

Upper front office and & RIO's front panel...

While reading this thread I got to wondering about Mr. Cunningham and sure enough found out that he was released from federal custody on June 4th of this year. I hope that he has a long and peaceful retirement ahead of him
