Definitely "short & stubby"...
Have made up and attached the bottom wing. One appreciates the laser frames when sealing with three wings..

Great to watch the progress. On the short and stubby issue, it reminds me of the story of the Fokker DVII which was initially designed with a fuselage much of the dimensions of the DrI. After test flights just before the competition on which of several designs were to be chosen by the German authorities, the test pilot had objections to the unstability of the aircraft. Which led to the Fokker crew butchering the prototype on the eve of the official competition, lengthening it with I don't know how many feet, but at least considerably.

The result was the DVII configuration which won general acclaim and, I understand, became regarded as one of the (perhaps even the) finest aircraft of WWI.

Don't remember where I read this, but I'm sure someone can corroborate. And I do believe you've built a fine DVII, too, Pete?

I had started the "Kartonowa Kolekcja" kit of Ernst Udet's D-VII, but stashed it away when I ended up crushing the landing gear struts. Will break it out of hibernation for a restoration after finishing this. Too many kits in different stages put aside for one reason or another that I'm going to try and make an effort to complete. (we'll see how that goes..)

I have to learn to explain things with a little better detail...:
I use "leader line" in different sizes depending on the scale. To get the silver color, I'll put a dab of "chrome silver enamel" on a tile.. then hold the line down on the paint while I slowly drag it though. A light touch.. a steady pull.. and I end up with good coverage on the line. I like this "Maxima line", because it has very little curl too it which makes it easy to handle. Plus I always give myself plenty of line to work with, so I'm not fighting with small pieces. There are probably better ways, but this works for me..

Here's the line..
