I don't know about excellent, but it's done.
Mounted on a piece of "FoamCor" painted and covered with bits of static grass. I like mounting planes on some sort of base, as it gives something to hold onto other than the model when people want to pick it up. Touch-ups here and there using pastel chalks where needed, and then several light coats with "Future" applied with my airbrush to seal and blend everything together.

Excellent kit that had no problems with, other then those I brought myself.

Turned out real good. The mounting method is a good idea.

It's a first rate model, Peter!

The whole thread was most enjoyable.

What's the next project?

Very beautiful build. The kit is great, but your hands are also wonderful. Very clean, and precise.

Very beautiful finish - makes me want to try both the chalky trick, and that diluted acrylic varnish / floor polish which Future is. Any problems with the water content of the spray?

Congratulations on a really fine model, beautifully displayed, too! - L.

Appreciate everyone's comments.. hugs & strokes is what keeps us old dudes going.

Leif.. I spray the "Future" without diluting. Very light misty coats from about a foot away, which gives me a lot more control over the look I want, and blends in any shading/weathering I add. Also it really helps that you provide all those excellent tips of yours for the rest of us to take advantage of.

Up next?? Either another "Ork" inspired build, or finishing/restoring my Udett's <sp?> D-VII that got slightly crushed.

One vote for the D-VII.
