Looking for a Lockheed P2V-5F Neptune

Hey guys I need some help here. My grandfather asked me if I could build him a P2V-5F Neptune. He flew one when he was in the US Navy in the mid-50s. He asked me a few days ago and I just can't seem to find one. I really wanna build this for him, so any help would be appreciated. Pictures and a four-view are down below.

Ecardmodels has a couple Neptunes available. They're not the F model you're looking for, but they might be close enough.

Jarrod you gonna have trouble finding a 5 model. The OP-2E are modded 7s.

The tails right but the 5 had the nose turret.

The OP-2E is going to give you a closer profile than the P2V-7, but you going to have to recolor it because they were jungle green and the 5s were blue.

Hello Spacemen1969,

Hobby Model has 1:33 scale Neptune of the Royal Dutch Navy. Not exactly what you're looking for perhaps, but nevertheless...

The pics of P2V-5F I see on airliners.net show the same nose as the P2V-7/SP2H. I would have actually mistaken them for P2V-7s if not for the lack of a bulged canopy.

I agree a repaint of the OP-2E would be best but you'd need to restore the tail end of the fuselage.

(the P2V-5F was redesignated P-2E in 1962)

The previous version (P2V-5) started its life with nose and tail turrrets that were later replaced wit the observation nose and MAD gear. The P2V-5F got more powerful piston engines and added one jet engine under each wing.

If someone is so inclined I am the copyright holder for that neptune kit. I have no issues with supplying it for modification so long as I can sell the variant

John,

If you're going to do a redraw-repaint, I'll be interested in purchasing a copy when it is available on ecardmodels.
