Cool JWing magazine- Blue Impulse T4 model

I just purchased the November 2013 issue of J Wing magazine. It is a monthly aviation publication is nice glossy format. Great photos as always.

This month as I was looking inside, I see a paper model of the Kawasaki T-4 aircraft in the Blue Impulse colors. The Blue impulse is an aero demonstration team ( sort of like the Blue angles, Thunderbirds, Red arrows ....... ) in Japan. I have seen them a few times at airshows here and they are impressive to watch as a nice and graceful formation flying team.

Picture of the magazine story here:

To me the surprise was the inclusion of the paper kit. It is printed on glossy paper and has various tails with numbers 1-6 and a blank. The model is in 1/72 scale.

Personally, I probably will not build it as it is too small. Also, it is a simple model, but is good for beginners ( sort of like Fidler's Green format ). It is intended for teenagers and young adults.

Sort of reminds me the Israel Air Force magazine kits.

Anyhow, here are some photos of the kit and instruction:

here are pictures of the actual aircraft I took last November at the Iruma airbase outside of Tokyo.

In 1994 I lived in Sayama city, just down the road from Iruma air base. I used to ride my bicycle up to one of the fences at the end of the runway and watch the T33s, which they were flying then, come and go. Happy days they were.
