Hi Yoav,

I noticed your methode of creating a cockpit and that reminded me of some experiments I did a long time ago. finaly I ended up doing all the design of the cockpit directly in Word. I tried to explain this in a few steps in the attached text.

Perhaps this can simplify your modeling.
