There has been a long standing argument among aviation enthusiasts regarding whether or not to fly historical aircraft. Both sides make some valid arguments. My family happens to have a condo-suite in Galveston
(on the sea-wall, not far from Scholes field), and almost every time we are there we are treated to the welcome growl of historical aircraft zooming overhead.

It starts as a distant hummmmm..... then transitions into a doppler roar, it always makes my day on the island complete.

While some may question hours or experience for the pilots of historical aircraft, I can promise everyone that these seemingly irreplaceable treasures are only entrusted to the best of the best and are maintained to the highest of standards. Sometimes bad things happen to good pilots (and crew).
