Can't wait to see how much you add to this!

And just before we insert the cockpit in its place, I made the front part of the plane, or better said, at the same time.

And here my headaches began.

First... we prepare the main wheel well and cockpit support. As the A-10 does not have the main landing gear in the middle, like any other common plane, the wheel well is aside. This is because the massive GAU 8a cannon on the warthog. So we have to be very careful on preparing and cut the formers.

Then, when trying to fit the cockpit, there is the need to compare it with the fuselage piece of it... but not yet to glue it! I needed to verify that the wheel well also fitted! And it actually... it is not; so I had to do extra work to have both pieces fit together and lined up.

Unfortunately, I had to cut the bases of the front panel, but it didn't cause any other problems.

Did somebody say PATIENCE?? This photo shows how the pieces have to fit. I had to dry-fit many times to test the alignment, until I had a picture in my mind of how it should be done. More patience please!!!
I realized here that this model is not for beginners... if you want the wheel wells.

I think you can go like 3 versions with this killer pig. And I think I will go the hard way, and hopefully it can look a little more handsome. Even though I'm not that good at scratchbuilding.
Well... after 18 hours of fighting the pig (and 4 of sleep), I could managed to build the cockpit... without the chair, that is.

Gerardo,
Looks great, I think the wheelwells were added this version of the kit. The 2 previous had the typical maly black hole for attaching the landing gear. It looks like the main gear in the wing pods may be asier as they just have you laminate an interior color. Just be aware of the length differances when you build the actual landing gear. On the diagrms they give the old wire dimensions in some pics and the new in just one or 2 sideviews!

Thank you for follow, Willygoat.
Thank you very much for the advice, Ted, because I'm almost at that point.

Now the nose parts.

I added a weight with a nut. The A-10 has tricycle landing gear, o a weight must be added.

After 8 hours more... the warthog nose is complete.

The last picture shows how the wheel well is not perfectly aligned. What I must have been done is to move the lateral piece more towards the inside.

The model looks great , but I think that Maly has maked a mistake regarding the cockpit , it looks too white.
