A-10 Thunderbolt Maly Modelarz

Let's cut some paper.

This model of the A-10 is a "remake" of another A-10 from Maly, but digitalized. Also the camo is from Desert Storm. The colors are incredible!

The quality of the paper is fair, almost no granular surface. The colors are great. The scale is 1/33, meaning that is going to be a huge plane!!

Let's begin with some formers. In this model, Maly is using the bulkhead kind of construction.

I have to be careful then

Here I'm making the formers join to have the same shape, and I sand them with a nail sandpaper.

Then I paint the edges on the fuselage peice. Half of the former stays "out" to be able to join the other section of the fuselage.

Great start!
It will be very interesting to see both the original (OldTroll's) and redrawn version (yours) being build at the same time.

How great is it to have another Milenio Maly Model under construction!?

You are really off to a good start with this one, Gerardo. I agree with Mike that you and Ron are pumping up interest with your parallel builds of this Yankee Sturmovik.

And especially interesting to me, as I have all three, and one day hope to build
them in 1/144.

Mike, Don, Ray... thanks for the kind words. I've been checking Ron's A-10 and he's doing a great job.

Ok, let's hope this big pig can be seen as beautiful as it suppose to be... given the camo.

Internal former with one of the engine supports.

As the pieces fit too good so far... we get happy.

This fuselage fits 100%, and errors are totally mine. Maly scored big time with this model... or at least that seem so far.

Now the cockpit interior. I looked at this, and I saw it too white, too blank. So I got thinking that maybe I could mess this up.

This are the lateral panels on the cockpit. I made a little dusting here. I did it by scratching the tip of a pencil and then rub it with my finger smoothly.

I also thought about some other details like a couple of tubes. I took a thin wire, made it like a srping, and paint it black.

Then I applied some color to a couple of buttons on the panels.
