DM-1 jet for my wife
Hi,
Thought you guys would enjoy this one. Any of you guys that model will know that most of the time our wives tolerate our creative passion with a mild attitude. ( at least mine does ) Saying that guys just do what guys do. And Relegating our built treasures mostly to the man cave. At least my wife does unless it's a kitty model displayed by the TV in the living room. Well,,, I was looking through my F.G. files yesterday as I sometimes do,,, and my wife looking at the computer screen commented that she liked the color of the DM-1 Jet in the display picture next to the folder. I thought,,, that it's an easy build and maybe she would like it. So I brought up the file and the model color was not as it is in the little picture. So I did a quick re-paint on it getting the color better for her. Built it this morning with the usual assistance from my two helpers. And gave it to her. She likes it and is going to put it somewhere. ( MAYBE ) HE HE Oh well,,, I keep trying nun the less. Enjoy the pictures, First is the original color of the model,,, and then the picture my wife saw an liked,,, then the build pictures. Best Regards, Gary |

Really like this design-nice build.
Been planning to design one myself. Very interesting history behind this one: Lippisch started the design after the ME163 was operational (1944). Originaly designed as a glider but was never finished. Was dreamed up to explore supersonic flight to MACH 6 (4,188 mph). After the war end the USA decided to finish it, once completed they shipped it to the US for wind tunnel testing. Great choice and nice build-bet that wing leading edge wasn't easy to complete! I give away old tanks to girlfriends. They are intended to be "dashboard" tanks to alleviate road rage in traffic, but some have ended up on office desks at work. You and your "helpers" did a nice job.
