Paper-Replika - santa_biplane
Hi everybody,
i've just finish it for Christmas tree.. i'd to reduce it significantly such as used a reduction factor of 0,34..so the model is then 3 time less than the original.. that is the five original sheet where put on only one sheet. Wing span is 8,5cm (3.3") instead of 25cm (9,8") Here are the pictures.. Cheers DCo |

Nice job on your tree ornament.
Bet the gifts and the figures were the most difficult to do in a reduced size. It looks great. |

That's it.. but with a lot of patience and with help of tools, you may achieve such a challenge..Otherwise with finger such mine, this is impossible..!!

Very nice, and such a good idea. Got to look that one up...
8.5 cm span - that's got to be smaller than 1/87... - L. |

Thank you guys for your nice comments.
Hé Leif it's hard to say what scale it is but surely less than 1/87.... as it is a fictitious plane may i say..! But assuming this kind of plane having about 10m wing span this give around 1:120..looking to Pilot Santa Claus.. Humm may be the scale seems to be rather 1:100.. not so far finally... So the original model is 1:40 (Large version in the Fiddlersgreen world) PS.. i've noticed i forgot to twist the propeller blade for better & aerodynamic reality.. easy to correct |

Didier,
... not so easy to twist after the fact. You'll have to make a double twist, since at the root, the prop should be at least 45°, while at the tip it's close to 0°, like it is now. There are full-size props that have this double twist, notably the Fairey-Reed metal prop. See this page. So, Didier, go make a double twist... - Leif |

Understood what you mean Leif.. but for this fictitious plane, one twist would be sufficient..see picture .. looks better isn't it..?
