mini f-18

I’ve always wanted a smaller F/A-18. Now I have a much better appreciation for you small scale builders as well. -J

I would say 1:250, but I could be mistaking.
unless the squares are centimeters

Well I went back to the drawing board as I really didn’t care for the nose section of the first one shown above, so I now consider that one the “test build”. I started out designing this paper model with a couple of parameters in mind. I wanted it down-scalable, fewer parts, simple construction and a reasonably accurate look. Normally, the nose section of this bird is made up of about 6 segmented, angled cones. I reduced that number to 3 for simplicity and a lesser number of parts, while trying to maintain it’s recognizable shape. I kept the business end to a single piece as well for the same reasons. The wings, V & H stabs are straight forward. Lastly, I closed up the fore and aft openings on the business end with 6 more pieces. I ended up with what you see here, a simple, 1 pg, 16 pc, F/A-18 that’s build-able in a couple of hrs (prolly quicker for you micro builders).

I added the LG to the page today (now 19 pcs total), but don’t feel like building them right now.

The small one is 1:300 as above, the next bigger one is 1/8 pg, or roughly 1:225 (about 3") and the larger one is 1/4 pg, or roughly 1:160 (about 4")

If PM is interested, I can give it up to the DL section. LMK, -J

good work, i like it, it looks very good for such a little thing.

but a little note with your permission....the gap between the engines exhaust should be a little bit more smaller.
