Mig-15 marathon

The landing gear construction is the same as the other Hobby Model Mig 15s.

My method is to wrap the thin paper around a wood dowel, cut to size, drill out a center and insert paper clip metal pins to hold it together and attach using Super Glue ( CA type ).

, I am now ready to install my painted resin wheels.

glue the struts and wheels to the wing supports. I had to dry fit and cut/trim to get the proper height of the main gears. This is important as many Mig models are sitting on the gear way too high which is not correct.

Here is the split up CS version put together ( sort of ).

The engine is a bit bigger than needs be and could have been a millimeter smaller in diameter. But, I will be displaying it open so it is no big deal.

Next work is the attachment of the doors and other externals.

Here are the doors. Nice addition. Pay attention to the proper orientation of the main gear doors. There are three of them on the strut side.

The Lim version is built with the speed brakes deployed.

For some reason the laser frames for the inside of the brakes do not match the kit parts. But it matters not.
