EgyptAir A320

This is my build of Paper-Replika's A320 in EgyptAir livery. It is the first and largest airplane I've attempted in more than a decade (space is usually my genre) so you won't see many close-up shots. Despite the good advice I got from RunwayOneSixRight and others, there are some rough spots. But, overall, it was a fun build and I learned something and maybe I'll try another airliner.

Construction was pretty straightforward, except I used a model rocket tube for the long, straight part of the fuselage. That's something I do when I build rockets. For one thing, I hate rolling tubes, and for another, the cardboard tube lends rigidity and strength to the model. I found one that was nearly the right size; after wrapping a single layer of cardstock around it, the kit's fuselage piece fit just fine.

I still need to work on the wing tub thingies, though. Just can't seem to get those folds and curves right....

I don't see any error on your model, Dan. In fact, I was delighted to see a "common" model built by you, after your extraordinary space vehicle models.

Question: what kind of printing did you use?

Thanks for the kind comments, all.... As for the printing, I actually printed the sheets out at FedEx/Kinko's. I tried a couple of different kinds of paper. One was a coated text paper that was pretty glossy; I thought it might look good for an airliner. Unfortunately, the paper is a fairly lightweight stock so every accidental crease shows up. And I found it was just too lightweight to work with, so I wound up printing it out on 80-pound (as I recall) cardstock. The copiers at my local FedEx/Kinko's leave printed areas with a glossy sheen.

I did, however, use a silver Sharpie to color the front of the nacelles. I first filled the gap between the outer and inner pieces with Elmer's glue (which I find sands better than the Lineco Neutral pH adhesive I use for assembly) and then once I sanded that, I used the marker to color the nacelle fronts. I used the marker on the leading edge of the fin, too, since photos I found showed it in silver.
