I decided to have a go at the Spitfire in 1:200. As usual, there is a lot if room left on the paper and I crammed in a few more that hopefully will see knife and glue in the future. I do have a question on the modified Spitfire. In the accessory box with landing gear is a large wing. What is the intent for this part? I have searched the forum all day and can not see any pictures of how it is meant to be applied. I believe it is an inside-the-wing former of some sort.

That's likely just that-a former/stiffener so wings don't sag.Spit wings had a fair bit of dihedral to them unlike Hurricane.

That is the lower wing for a landing gear down version I believe.

That would be an excellent theory, but for the fact that it lacks markings. I believe that it goes inside, but I am unsure as to the exact method intended.

Sandwich or rather plywood method. When you glue multiple layers of material in curved shapes they will stay in that shape after curing.I use that when making those small winglets in wingtips of passenger jets.I just insert another one or two strips or thin card with glue and they stay in shape perfectly.

Good point. Completely missed that. I hadn't finished my first
cup of coffee yet! That's my excuse!

Actually, you don't need that part. I've completey forgotten why I didn't delete it. It's probably a remnant of the process to adapt to Bruno's model the landing gear I originally made for Oliver Bizer's small Spitfire.

Bruno's F4U Corsair in 1/300 Scale

Greetings all!

Here is a quick build I did of Bruno's 1/300 scale F4U Corsair. This was my first build in 1/300. I enjoyed it very much, and will be building more in this scale.

Utmost thanks to you Bruno, for all you have done for this site and our hobby!

James
