Hello, Wilfried - you already know how much I like this build. The original build thread - detailed - is here at Kartonbau.de, for those interested.

Looks like a very nice kit. And your build is brilliant as always.
Tappi EDIT: And now that I've seen the original thread I know the kit is excellent (thanks Leif) |

Very nicely done, Wilfried. A beautiful little craft.
I have a technical question. This aircraft is fitted with anti-spin strakes, the horizontal slats that stretch forward from the stabilizers on either side of the turtledeck back. I first ran into these on the Controur Creative model of the Tiger Moth, and I puzzled over them for awhile. How do they actually work to prevent a spin? Are they on hinges so that one or the other can flap up if the tail starts to slew sideways too much - sort of an instant expansion of fin area? Why not just make the fin bigger instead? Since they are not standard equipment on other aircraft, maybe this was just a way to correct a design flaw of the Moth? Scratching my head.

Some answers here:
"Tiger Moth anti-spin strakes" (Kartonbau.de, in English) They are static. As you say, more of a prolonged stab. And the fin often gets the same prolonging on other aircraft, for the same reason. Leif |
