YOAV, in Poland after IIWW to about sixty years almost all gliders were paiting on orange colour.

It was a communist times. Orange gliders were very well visible on a background of green fields and forests. It was important for military pilots.

That is really beautiful. Without that canopy, the Mucha would have been much less of the beautiful model it is now turning into. I am very envious of your (and other's) ability to vacuform canopies. Exquisite work. And I suppose there will be a thin frame over the edges, yes?

PS. A reflection on your earlier post about the orange color - it was to make it harder to use gliders for undetected long-distance flights (sic!) over the western borders - is that how I should understand it? Very sombre thought...

Leif, thin frame will be. I masking the adhesive layer applied, they are not too nice.

Not only. It was the protection against collision between a glider and military aircraft. At the time, military pilots did not have separate areas of operation and flew everywhere.
