Back to America- Shipping in a box container
My work in Japan is now complete. After almost 3 wonderful years of work, play, touring, making new friends and yes, building models, it is time for me to return.
I am departing Tokyo and going back to Cincinnati Ohio, USA. Here are pictures of all my models that I have with me and are going to be packed up and shipped by container. Picture taken on the balcony on a beautiful day today. I brought with me 9 paper models, and some plastic models to cheer me up while I work here. Along the way, I built 22 airplane paper models as well as some more plastic planes. Group shot of all the models. Here are the plastic models Here are all the paper planes ( and the Hondajet model given to me as a thank you model ) Here are the paper models built in Japan Here are the paper models that were built in the USA and are now returning. All together there are 33 airplanes models going back as well as 2 tanks and some ground support equipment ( not pictured here ). What a load I hope that most will make it back unharmed. If you want to see my posts regarding by builds, museums and points of interest, here is the listing on this forum: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/s...archid=2358892 Isaac

What a great collection! The aircraft look very accurately built.
How will the movers pack these models? In separate bubble plastic wrap? Just curious. |

As one who has had to move several times, and had the contract help
(most of which do not speak English, or the native language of the country I am in) move my items, it is best to pack yourself. Bubble wrap is not a good option. You have to support the aircraft by the fuselage and wings, so that none of the dangly bits (props, landing gear, etc) are exposed to the bumps and thumps of people who are usually, barely, smarter than gorillas.
