Geli Classic Model No. 38 "MIG 15"

Well, after a long time, I am back again. I had many things to manage in my private life but everything had a good outcome and now the thrill and pleasure in building cardmodels is back again. 3 month ago, I found a new job in an international environment and now the spare time has come back to start with cardmodels again. Useless to say how happy I am about this fact.
To get my rusty fingers and knowledges back to work, I started my first new project since 9 month with a Geli model - the famous MIG 15, not to forget my open works still under construction. OK, letīs start and try again...

The new Geli model issues are still simple and clever but the quality of print and colour is fantastic. Especially the metallic silver print and the clean and propper colours are essential for every new release of Geli Classic Models.

First step will be the central segment of the fuselage. No problem awaits you here. I used silver acryl colour for the edges, because the Geli cardboard is glossy and hard to paint with water based colours like goache or aquarell paintings.

I built the next two segments of the fuselage without any problems, too. To be safe that the warbird will stand up right on his wheels, I glued a coin in the front section. Afterwards I assemled the three fresh produced segments.

A very good beginning on this model. I'm always glad to see a Geli under construction.

Thank you for encouragement, gentlemen !

The build of the third fuselage segment is time consuming and it needs some work for a good result. The construction is Geli simple but clever in using cardboard rings inside the front to get a smooth round air intake. You have to rasp the shape with fine sandpaper and then colour it with acrylic paint. For a better result I used some wood glue to stabilize the work. After all, the front section of the MIG 15 fuselage is ready for the next steps to come.
