1/144 McDD F-4E Quick build
Hello gentlemen!
It's been a veery long time since i post any build thread or update here, school gets in the way and final exam is imminent. Usually my weekend is used for extra lesson, try-outs and such but i (finally) got a free weekend today. Instead of continuing my old unfinished models i decided to make a new one, it's the McDD F-4E phantom from TSMC site, USAF colour scheme, rescaled to 1/144. I first started with the fuselage, the fuse is divided into two part, left and right, like most plastic kit. By far the only paper kits i see arranged this way is TSMC, Zioprudenzio and Kancho's paper wings. In my opinion this arrangement minimized the number of seams and ease construction process in small scale models, since you don't have to work with those fiddly little cones and cylinders common in standard paper kit arrangement. On the other hand this arrangement is very prone to 'banana-ing' (is that a valid word?) and you have to be extra careful when joining the longitudinal seam Here's some picture: Nose and former finished: Next is intake and lower mid-fuse

Thank you very much yoav!
Now, The finished intake and mid-fuse, slight miss alignment on right intake though. I also paint the empennage silver to match the real deal: Top view shows 'banana-ing' that i said earlier, you can see the deviation on rear-fuse section, and slight bit just below the canopy, Gonna cut the rear seam off again to fix the deviation, otherwise the models went together nicely Next up: tails and stabs

Raja that is looking good so far :D
Keep it up. Yoav that is how TSMC made the model. They have a very un-orthodox method of construction. G1 |

and Raja, my comment is not to you, it is to TSMC that design it. you can fix this in the photoshop, joint the 2 parts of the back, make a long part only for the back, print and cover the back of the model. i think it will be more suitable for this nice model. if you want i can do this for you, but you need to send me the files. Oh, right.. why didn't i think of this earlier? it would be nice indeed if the fuse fixed together first before printed
But since it already been done, i'll just leave it like this. will keep this in mind for future TSMC project The wings and main wheel well is ready anyway: The signature dihedral on F-4's wings
