PZL P1. GPM No.345 1:33 Scale
Always had a soft spot for Polish fighter planes.
The PZL P1 was the first of a line of aircraft featuring gull-wings and open cockpits. Shortly after the P1 flew, it was decided to use radial engines, rather than in-line. The GPM kits gives you the option of either a metallic finish or a flat white, both with red accents. Also of note, the kit comes with laser cut parts. Should save some time. Tim |

I thought you were going to go for P.7 or P.11, but this is a much better choice - don't think anybody built the P.1 yet.

It was going so well:
Frames built up, one tab the wrong way round, no biggie. Interior built up. It's all going well. Go to test fit the first fuselage skin, doesn't fit. Big gap at the bottom. (2mm at front 1mm at rear) Can't really see why there should be a gap between the formers and the outer skin. Check the other skins they all butt up against the formers. So decide to cut the skin in half, trim up. Will leave a butt joint on the underside. Things go really downhill from here on. Decided to give up. Tim |

I am always leery of laser cut frames.

Tim - I read your post too hastily and missed the last line. Too bad, it looked like a really attractive airplane and the work that you had done up to the point of finding the badly-fitted fuselage skin looked really good. Good wishes for the next build. Don
