Quick FG Helldiver
I did a quick build of the Fiddlers Green Helldiver, to give as a joke gift to my supervisors. We've been restoring the National Air and Space Museum's Helldiver for the last year+, we're into "crunch time" trying to meet the deadline, and I figured that, if all else fails, at least with this they'll have ONE completed Helldiver ready to present.

Hey, that came out pretty good for a "Quick" build.
Good luck at the museum. Jeff |

Nice looking build, and not one of FG's easier models. Bravo!

Looks great, Anne.
Would your boss allow you to borrow it back long enough to display in May at the Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Days event? Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Days 2014 - 17 and 18 May Don |

Don -- I think I may build a second one for myself, incorporating some improvements I thought of during this build. I built this one with no mods at all, except for adding wing spars made from wooden coffee stirrers. The wing attachment as printed seemed dicey, and the spars set the dihedral nicely. In a second build, I would also insert some coffee stirrers in the tailfeathers, to give them a little thickness, print 2 props & glue them back-to-back, and laminate the main gear for thickness and strength. I'm sure a better modeler could improve it more, but I'm not that modeler (yet). This one really was a quick build, only about 4 hours.

Great job, I love the Helldiver nice build. Can we get some photos of the real one you've been working on?
Thanks, Gary
