finally, a completed build! A-6 Texan from FG

Well, I got something done... A North American "Texan" A-6 trainer bought by the Israelis in 1948. They quickly repainted the bright yellow trainers, armed them, and sent them directly into combat. My model is from Fiddler Green and is about 1/87 scale. I beefed up the landing gear by layers and added a small nose to the prop. Otherwise pretty much like the printed model. My hands hurt and this try is not as nice as I would like it to be, but I got one done!

Looks good, CT, especially considering the scale...I just can't get my finders round those fiddly lil parts anymore...

Very nicely done, the extra detail on the prop adds a lot.

Thanks guys...
The original scale of this FG model seems to have been 1/60 scale but for some reason back around 2010 I printed this copy off at about 1/87 scale... not sure why, may have been a boy scout project for the kids or something. Anyhow, just recently found it!

Great build on a nice aircraft. I love the paint scheme.

Thanks Gary. I did the repaint back in 2010. Not too skillful but it works.

Very nice model! I think that 1/87 is a very good scale for FG models. Maybe this will finally inspire me to get off the recliner and build something!

Good to see you building, Corey. Very nice job on this grand old airplane. Looks like you made the most of the FG model.
