How to display Bruno's Models
I didn't want to hijack Bruno's model thread So I started a new one. Bruno likes his models "flying" and doesn't provide landing gear. While a few have uploaded landing gear retrofits for his models I was wondering how everyone else displays his 300 scale models? Being so small makes a pedestal like I use for his 100 scale problematic.

Keeping it simple ... I use paperclips ...
Plain silver ones look better than coloured ones though. Similarly bent copper wire looks good too. Even better if you cut the model name from the sheet and feed the wire through it so that it covers the stand base. Johnny |

Use plastic from packing. Here is one method. Bend the plastic carefully. Another is to use a tab/slot arrangement typical of plastic model stands.

I've been thinking that they would look good stuck on pins in a shadow box, like butterflies . . .

I had the same idea! You could put an whole group of them. Like all the MiG-15s or F-102s in one. I might put together an origami box and give it a try.

Yes you can have balance problems, hence the relatively large base. On some stands I glue a heavy washer to the base and cover the washer with a piece of paper with your choice of color or aircraft information printed on it. That weights it down quite well.
