Fiddlersgreen Junkers Ju-52

Would anyone know the scale of the Fiddlersgreen Junkers Ju-52? (The large model, not the regular.)

A quick print and measurement gives me a wingspan of 570mm. The full size A/C had a wingspan of 29.3m which gives a scale of 1/51 (approx.).

If I recall, John Dell did the artwork on several of those ju-52 s.

Maybe, if he see's this thread he might recall the scale and post it.

John, are your ears burning?

Yeah, John Dell designed the Ju-52, he also did the Boeing 299.

The Ju 52/3m was a fun project. Chauncy Green did the design/engineering for the model so I was able to concentrate on doing a few tweaks as well as the color, textures and weathering. At the time I figured the kit was 1/48ish in scale. Wayne’s estimate of 1/51 scale is probably fairly accurate.

That old Boeing 299 kit is going to get an eventual make-over. I’ve re-designed the fuselage so it has a more accurate shape.

I am currently building the the 299, I will post pictures over at the FG forum when I finish. It is very nicely designed and everything fits quite well.

Thank you,
Beard
