1/60 Fokker E.III

Hello gentlemen, fellow paper modelers!
After long build of Rhein monitor and quick built of Nobi's Hellcat, i want to present you my latest build: Fokker E.III from Modele-Kartonowe
paint scheme used is 345/15 flown by German ace Hans Buddecke for the Ottoman air force
The model is rescaled to 1/60

Lets getting started..
I want to reproduce the metal cowling effect on this model, but my earlier experience with metallic foil proved that this technique is not suitable for smaller parts present in the Fokker E.III model as foils will delaminate quickly if not glued properly to paper parts, furthermore, shiny cowling is simply unsuitable for WW1 era planes

As metallic part only cover small area of cowling, i opted to use silver marker instead, it's easier to apply and the shininess is closer to the real metal

But the kit upper cowling is slightly too small (1mm short on each side, at least for me) so i had to made a new upper cowling from scrap paper

Thanks Elliot!

Next step is tailcap and pilot seat, again with new wicker texture and seatbelts

Additional detail on upper cowling and side cowling. The kit parts originally have cut out on the side cowling to fit the wings, but after some research i found out that it is the wings that have cut out to fit the cowling, i think it's easier this way

the cockpit rim is wire painted with flat brown enamel (Tamiya XF-10)

Next step is the tail assembly, this part is a bit tricky. tail strut made from wire for additional strength
