Nice progress.
Please post more pictures of the build process. Always interesting to see other people build the same model. Isaac

Very smart solution to fix the stand this way! Good progress too.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build. Best regards, Erik |

An update on the build of the F4e. I constructed the nose, tailplane and missile tubes. Constructing the air intakes was a bit difficult. I could not get the shape right. But persistence pays off, and I got it right. Took me a long time It's a problem with my skills Yoav, not your desighn. Opening the missile tube slats after constructing the complete hull works well, the missile tube innards are easy to install, and the hull stays straight. You can see the model on the stand. It is not fixed yet, but it gives a good idea of the end result as far as the stand goes. As far as the weaponry goes, can you help me out Yoav ? Found this on the internet: "The Phantom is a two seater, with the navigator/WSO sitting behind the pilot. In case of an emergency, the WSO can fly the plane from his seat. The plane has tremendous and varied attack capabilities, from ground targets - for which it uses bombs and air-to-surface missiles at a total weight of 7,257 kg. - to threats from the air, which it deals with by employing Sparrow, Sidewinder, Shafrir 2 or Python (3, 4) missiles. In addition, the Phantom has a six-barrelled 20 mm. cannon with 640 rounds." Is this correct Yoav ? Do you know a site which has models for the weapons carried by the plane ? I guess the missile tubes stayed empty ? |

first thing first.....till now, the model looks very good.
question: why do you have 2 Hue of bright blue at the bottom, the intake bottom seems to be more blue. about the intakes: how do i make the intake easily with the right shape??? 1. i make a former with the shape i need, in F4E case it has to be rectangular/long square. 2. i fix the intake to his place. 3. after the intake placed properly, i take the former and placed it at the front of the intake, without glue but with a little pressure. 4. then i take super glue and Gently rub it around the intake on his edge. 5. i wait for 5 minutes so the super glue will be hard, and then take out the former. about the missiles..... i know, the sparow missiles was used only in the early 70' when the first F4E arived to ISRAEL. in fact the sparow missiles used only at the rear tubes, but in Single cases they use also at the front tubes....but it was rare. at this time, meaning the early 70', the F-4E no' 316, like you are building now, was painted with the USAF schema. at the end of the 80', the 316 was painted with the IAF schema, at that time the sparow missliles was not in use at the IAF. so if you want to be correct, you have to leave the 4 tubes empty. you can only put at the left front tube the FOD that i add and you can put in the right front tube the sidewinder misslile. the other arming, you can arrange like i showed in the instructions. GOOD LUCK yoav |

Yoav,
The colour of the bottom parts is possibly a bit off due to my printer. Your files are ok, so this is my guess. I use an Epson Stylus sx405. The ink cartridges are full, or almost full, so I don`t understand why the printer should vary the colours... Btw: I do not see colours very well, that`s why I did not see it (and fly gliders) As for ghe teeth: I did not see this in your instructions. Am I mistaken ? Thanks !!! |
